CHALLENGE:

The University of Glasgow, represented by Dr. Lynn Wilson and Deirdre Shaw, approached FoSho STUDIOS with a unique challenge. They sought to create a compelling communication video titled “Fabric of Society,” aimed at raising awareness about the lifecycle of recycled clothing. The goal was to engage a diverse audience, including Scottish Libraries, online viewers, and key decision-makers in the Scottish Parliament. The challenge lay in crafting a narrative that was both educational and engaging, effectively conveying the importance of clothing use, circulation, and disposal.

SOLUTION:

FoSho STUDIOS responded with an innovative approach, leveraging our expertise in documentary storytelling. We proposed an 8-10 minute documentary, “Fabric of Society,” hosted by Dr. Lynn Wilson and featuring expert contributions. The film was designed to be both informative and emotive, capturing various stages of the recycled clothing lifecycle through case studies and interviews. To complement the main documentary, we also created a 1-minute social trailer, ensuring the message reached a broader audience across multiple platforms.

Fabric of Society:

EXECUTION:

The production of “Fabric of Society” involved extensive research and collaboration with the University of Glasgow and other stakeholders. We conducted interviews with key figures, captured documentary-style footage in various locations, and developed a script that seamlessly integrated all narrative elements. The project spanned several phases, from development to post-production, ensuring every aspect aligned with the project’s vision. Our team managed logistics, risk assessments, casting, and production planning, culminating in a high-quality documentary shot with state-of-the-art equipment.

IMPACT:

The “Fabric of Society” documentary had a significant impact across its diverse target audiences. At Scottish Libraries and the Scottish Parliament screening, it sparked conversations and raised awareness about sustainable clothing practices. Online, the documentary and its trailer reached a wide audience, fostering engagement and education on clothing recycling. The project successfully highlighted the importance of sustainable clothing use and disposal, aligning with the University of Glasgow’s mission to promote environmental consciousness and action.
